Hypnotherapy

What is Hypnosis?

We all experience hypnosis naturally every day - in fact we are in a state of hypnosis right before we wake in the morning and fall asleep at night. It is that familiar in-between place of waking and sleep; a relaxing state in which the mind is consciously aware of what is happening around you, but you are incredibly relaxed. The imagination is very easy to access, as well as memories and obscure thoughts. To put it simply, hypnosis is a space where the conscious and subconscious minds can “hold hands.”

Hypnosis is an amazing tool to access and discover information about ourselves that may not be accessible consciously. Whether it is motivations we don’t understand, desires we can’t seem to accomplish, or wisdom we would like to gain about our own journey, the answer may just be beneath the conscious surface!

My Hypnotherapy Service

At times we can “want” something so intensely. Consciously, we talk about it, and think about it, but hit a wall when it comes to following through with that desire. Whether it’s a habit that needs changing, a mental health struggle like anxiety, or a desire to more deeply connect with self, my Hypnotherapy practice lies in bridging the gap between the subconscious and the conscious minds. Strengthening this connection can provide immense positive impact, growth, healing, and an ability to move forward. I want to help you meet your goals and create freedom to live life in your most authentic way!

Neural-Pathway “Rewiring”

By going into hypnosis, we can “re-wire” old beliefs and “knowns” that are not serving us - allowing our conscious and subconscious minds to get on the same page. This could be habit changes, inner stories we can’t seem to change, anxiety loops, or just something that is feeling undesirable from within. Using positive suggestions as well as visualization under hypnosis, you can begin to make new connections in a different way than you ever have before; uncovering blocks and even creating new neural pathways in the brain (instead of using old tired ones that have led to the same undesired results).

With hypnotherapy, YOU can gain access to YOUR subconscious mind, making it easier to accomplish your goals and no longer stand in your own way.

Discovering What Lies Beneath

The subconscious mind is estimated to take up approximately 88% of the mind - that means there is a lot in there we may not have conscious access to! Discovery is when we go into the subconscious without the conscious mind controlling the narrative. It is an open-ended journey in which the subconscious brings forward what we need.

An example of this might be an inner-child “meet up”; where we connect and communicate to better understand what that child needs in order to help heal self. Another may be an intuition or “higher self” journey to discover what wisdom lies beneath the conscious mind; helping to answer a question you have been stuck on. Past Life Regression is another Discovery that can lead to understanding karmic baggage or used as a metaphor to better understand the struggles in our current life. Sometimes we just open a door and let the subconscious completely take over, leading us to where we need to go!

Common questions I get from new clients:

What if I can’t be hypnotized? The truth is that everyone has the ability. Prior to our first session, clients are asked to fill out a survey that I will analyze and discuss with them in order to best determine an individualized hypnosis approach. Each mind is different, therefore I take the time to decipher the best path to the subconscious for every individual. Another common fear is getting “stuck in hypnosis”. Contrary to what the media and movies portray, this is not possible. If necessary, I can bring a client into a full waking conscious state of mind instantly if needed, this is also something the client can do on their own.

What does Hypnotherapy feel like? Great question! I tell all of my clients it is like a massage for your brain and a shower for your spirit. It is an extremely relaxing and renewing experience, in fact, my clients tend to not want it to be over!

I don’t want to lose control - does this happen with Hypnosis? No - there is nothing you can do or say under hypnosis you do not want to, you are fully in the driver’s seat. As your Hypnotherapist, I will never suggest anything that was not agreed upon or discussed consciously.

How many sessions will I need? It depends on your needs! Every client is individualized and unique, so it is impossible for me to know how long it will take to reach your goals. With that said, I understand financial limitations and will try my best to work with your needs. I generally like to see my clients a minimum of three times for the simple reason that it takes a few times to go deeper into hypnosis and start to see results. Just like any other form of therapy, it takes time.

I want to uncover a traumatic memory under hypnosis so I can finally let it go or use it as proof against someone, can you help me with that? This is usually referred to as “Age Regression” and no, I cannot. Not only is it outside of my scope, but in my opinion, Age Regression tends to just re-traumatize the client. Also, anything you uncover using Hypnotherapy is inadmissible in a court of law. I am happy to discuss other options for closure in which we do not go into the actual trauma. An example is a “meet-up” with the child-self as the adult-self gives the child-self love, comfort, and words of affirmation.

I am always happy to answer any questions or address any fears about Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy!
