About Me

Hi, I’m Dana.

I’m a Certified Hypnotherapist and Transformational Coach, and a HypnoBirthing practitioner based in Denver, Colorado. I’ve always been drawn to people and to understanding what makes us who we are. Even before I knew I would do this work professionally, I was someone who could meet people where they were, read the room, and understand what was happening beneath the surface without judging them for it. I’ve always been able to see the person underneath the behavior, and I think that has become one of the most important parts of how I work with clients today.

I DO NOT believe people need someone to tell them who they are or what they should do. I believe most people have a lot more wisdom and strength within them than they realize, especially when they are caught in anxiety, fear, self-doubt, old patterns, or a difficult transition. Sometimes what gets in the way is that they have become disconnected from that part of themselves. My role is to help you find your way back to it.

A lot of the people I work with are thoughtful, self-aware, capable people who have already spent a lot of time trying to understand themselves. They may know exactly where their anxiety comes from, understand their patterns, or have read everything they can find about what they're experiencing. And yet knowing why something is happening doesn't always make it easier to change. Sometimes the mind understands something long before the rest of us catches up.

That is one of the reasons I love hypnotherapy. It gives us a way to work with more than just the thinking mind. Depending on what you need, our work might involve hypnosis, conversation, mindfulness, exploring patterns, working with different parts of yourself, or simply slowing down enough to notice what is really going on. I don't have a formula that I try to make every person fit. I pay attention to you, and we work from there.

I also don't expect you to come into a session knowing exactly what you need. You might know that you're anxious but not understand why. You might know that something in your life isn't working but feel conflicted about what to do next. You might have a very specific goal, or you might simply know that you don't want to keep feeling the way you've been feeling. We can start wherever you are.

I care about the person, not just the problem.

There is a human being behind every symptom, pattern, fear, or behavior. That's something I try to keep at the center of my work.

I don't see you as a collection of things that need to be fixed. I'm interested in understanding your experience and helping you understand yourself without judgment. Sometimes that means looking at something you've been avoiding. Sometimes it means learning to respond differently to something that has been running the show for a long time. And sometimes it means recognizing that a part of you has been trying very hard to protect you, even if the way it's doing that isn't working anymore.

I love witnessing the moments when someone begins to see themselves differently. It might be a client realizing they can tolerate something they once thought they couldn't. It might be someone trusting a decision without needing to analyze it for hours. It might be a person who has spent years believing something is wrong with them finally understanding themselves with a little more compassion. Those shifts can be quiet, but they can change a lot.

My approach

My background in psychology, hypnotherapy, mindfulness, and transformational coaching all inform the way I work, but I don't think good work comes from applying a particular technique just because it's what I planned to do that day. I want to understand what will actually be useful for you.

I'm curious, intuitive, and pretty comfortable going beneath the obvious answer. I will ask questions, listen for what you're saying and what you may not quite be saying yet, and offer perspectives when I think they might help. At the same time, I don't want you to become dependent on me to tell you what something means or what you should do. The goal is for you to become more connected to your own ability to know yourself, make decisions, handle discomfort, and move through life with greater trust in yourself.

That doesn't mean you'll always feel confident or certain. I don't think that's realistic. I think there is something much more valuable than certainty: knowing that you can meet yourself wherever you are and handle what comes next.

A little about my background

I earned my BA in Psychology from the University of Colorado Boulder and trained as a Certified Hypnotherapist through the Hypnosis Motivation Institute, a nationally accredited college of hypnotherapy. I've been practicing since 2020 and work with clients around anxiety, OCD, overthinking, self-trust, personal growth, spirituality, life transitions, and birth preparation.

My work has continued to evolve over the years because my clients have taught me a lot. Every person brings a different history, personality, nervous system, perspective, and way of making sense of the world. I don't think being a good practitioner means having every answer. I think it means being willing to listen closely, stay curious, keep learning, and really see the person in front of you.

Outside of work, I'm a wife and mom, and I love being in Colorado with my family. I enjoy being outside, making things with my hands, exploring, and finding moments of quiet in a life that is often anything but quiet. I'm also just a person figuring things out as I go. I don't have a perfectly calm mind or a perfectly organized life, and I don't expect my clients to either.

If you're wondering whether we're a good fit

You don't need to know for sure before you reach out. You can be skeptical about hypnosis, very analytical, deeply spiritual, completely new to this kind of work, or somewhere in between. You can know exactly what you want to work on, or have no idea where to begin.

You don't have to show up with the right words or have everything figured out. You don't have to perform or impress me. You can come as you are, and we'll start there.

My hope is that our work together helps you feel more connected to yourself, more trusting of your own inner wisdom, and more able to meet your life from a place of choice rather than fear.

I'm not here to tell you who to become. I'm here to help you discover more of the person you already are, and find the power to move forward from there.
